The Upper Hand Glove was born from my personal experience while working in security. I realized there was an unnecessary amount of effort while using a traditional handheld wand. The efforts of having to search people is excessive and can be complicated using a bulky, and quite frankly, age-old technology. The fact is that performing a hands-on search, along with using a wand separately for each individual, is exhausting. Especially when having to search hundreds of people in a limited amount of time. I knew there could be a better way, so I thought, "if I could incorporate the similar technology of the metal detector and combine it within a glove, then it would offer security personnel one search in half the time along with half the effort. In addition, paired with an earpiece, it would give discreet alerts to the user."

For the last 20 years of my 33 year law enforcement career I’ve been a defensive tactics instructor. Officer safety is a high priority. When our founder Jesse told me about this remarkably innovative glove that can not only protect the hands of the user but also detect metal I was really excited. An officer always wants their hands free to react to any situation. Besides, there are no defensive tactics systems that train personnel  on how to use a hand held metal detector as a weapon. That can cause two unacceptable issues, abuse of power and liability. What makes this glove even more effective is being alerted through an earpiece, allowing the officer to know about a threat without the “bad guy” knowing that they know. Since action is faster than reaction this glove would give any user the upper hand providing the highest probability for officer and public safety.
